Trail Name:

Amiththan Sebarajah

Amiththan is a recovering academic; distance hiker and a collector of stories. First generation refugee, Amiththan's family fled a civil war to settle in Canada. His first solo backpacking trip was a thru hike, on the AT in 2013 at the ripe age of 31. He has since hiked over 7k miles worldwide and advocates for diversity in the outdoors as well as diverse ways of approaching the outdoors. Lately he has taken up carving spoons for his fiancé, fishing trout and panning for gold. Sometimes, he writes love letters to the outdoor industry. Amiththan is committed equally to equitable land stewardship praxis as well as carrying a stove on trail so that he can make satay noodles.
