Osprey Talon 33 - After Osprey changed the design of my former favorite pack, the Hikelite 26 for the worse, I’ve tested every major daypack on the market and settled on the Talon 33. I think it’s the best overall bet for hikers in terms of comfort, capability, and value. It’s fairly indestructible, has a vented back panel to keep my back dry, is very comfortable to wear, even with big loads and water carries. I used the same pack from 2014 to 2017. For short hikes I just use a waist pack.
