Jake is a long distance hiker with Cerebral Palsy, a neuromuscular disorder that affects his legs. He grew up exploring the wild places of his native Michigan. He developed a deep love of backpacking, an activity no accessible to many with his disability. He now hikes to bring awareness to the Cerebral Palsy community, and helps fundraise for research to give them the opportunities he has had.
